Moulin Brewery is a tiny craft brewery, which began life back in 1995. The story goes, that the then owner of the Moulin Hotel, discussed with regulars to the Moulin Inn what he might do with the old stables at the back of the hotel. Out of these discussions came the idea of having a micro brewery and the birth of the successful brewery.
A selection of brewery souvenirs are available, which include Key-rings, bottle openers, Fridge Magnets, Cool Bags and Bar Runners.

The Moulin Brewery keg beer is available in the following local ale houses:
Traditionally UK pubs once brewed their own beer in their own brew house at the back of the pub. These pubs were bought out and the brew houses closed down by the larger breweries in the mid 20th century. By the mid-1970s, only four traditional brew houses remained in the UK, all in England.
In the late 1970s the term "Microbrewery" emerged to describe the new generation of small breweries that identified a gap in the market, by focused on producing traditional cask ale independently of major brewers or pub chains.
The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA)'s championed traditional brewing methods all added to the momentum for small breweries.
The Moulin Brewery offers free tours by the Brewer, Monday to Friday, 10.00am to 4.00pm. You will find the Brewery just behind the 300 year old Moulin Hotel, in the centre of Moulin village just to the north of Pitlochry.
