Visitors and red deer at Highland Safaris

Highland Safaris established in 1992 with a single ex-Army Landrover taking visitors to the top of hills to watch red deer. Donald and Julie Riddell who have lived here all their lives came up with the concept. They have known the area and its wildlife and landscape and recognised the opportunity to explore the wonderful landscape and wildlife.

It now employs 42 people and runs its own Red Deer Centre, complete with shop, café and children’s trail.

They have been able to share this knowledge with the general public and the corporate business market in a variety of ways. The business has seen massive changes since it started, to become one of Perthshire's top visitor attractions.

Over the last 12 years Highland Safaris has been awarded the 'Most Enjoyable Visitor Attraction' and has twice been a finalist in the Scottish Tourism Industries Visit Scotland's Thistle Awards.
