Pitlochry's only 5 Star Hotel. Built in 1892 in the Scots Baronial style, home to the Sandeman family cotton merchants and better known as importers of wine, sherry and especially port from Spain and Portugal. Fonab Castle remained a family home until 1946. Opened as a luxury hotel in 2013. It overlooks Loch Faskally next to Pitlochry dam and fishladder and a short walk from Pitlochry Festival Theatre and the Explorers Garden.
